This is a reminder that the 2025/26 irrigation season will close on 31 March 2026.

As your Water Rights only permit you take water during the declared season, any water taken from 1 April 2026 will be classified as winter water.

As a result, if you do not hold a current contract for winter water access, you will be required to secure water through a temporary trade before taking water on or after 1 April 2026 (and before the season re-opens on 1 November 2026).

We encourage all irrigators to review their water requirements and ensure appropriate arrangements are in place ahead of the seasonal transition.

Whilst the Scheme Manager may be able to assist in identifying who holds winter water contracts, it will be your responsibility to make the appropriate transfer arrangements, including negotiating terms, with such holders.
